Tamara savours great stories. She loves cooking up creative projects with her clients and bringing flavour to words. She offers a wide range of professional writing and editing solutions. Her clients include non-profit organisations, media houses, academic publishers and businesses operating in a wide variety of sectors, from wireless telemetry to personal branding, business coaching and wealth management.
She is the former editor of Banker SA, the official publication of The Banking Association of South Africa. She also contributed to the 2014 Trialogue CSI Handbook, Behind the Green Veil: Reflections on Sustainability (published by the Gordon Institute of Business Science) and Communication that Counts (published by GrantCraft in partnership with Tshikululu).
Tamara writes regularly for publications such as Easy DIY, South Africa Deluxe and various Sunday Times / Business Times supplements, including Celebrating Women, CSI and Green. She undertakes ghost-writing of thought leadership content for a range of prominent business people and offers an array of communications training services.
She has worked in journalism, public relations and advertising. She has also lectured in journalism, winning the Midrand Graduate Institute Award for Teaching Excellence in 2013.
In 2017, she was accepted for the Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa Executive Training Programme in Financial Journalism (NQF 7) at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), which she successfully completed, coming third overall in the class.
She sits on the board of Oasis Haven South Africa, a non-profit organisation and registered child and youth care centre, and is a member of the Southern African Freelancers’ Association (Safrea).
